FARLEX UNVEILS REDESIGNED WEB SITE
World’s Largest Database of Reference Information Redesigns Web Site to Enhance Usability
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., September 1, 2005—Farlex, Inc., publisher of the world’s largest online database of reference information (www.thefreedictionary.com), unveiled today a redesigned Web site featuring improved functionality aimed at streamlining the search process for reference information.
The redesigned Web site enables users to more quickly and easily locate the reference information they need. These enhancements, which include a more user-friendly interface and a streamlined navigation system, will make access to the Web site’s deep reference content easier and more efficient for the more than 10 million visitors who use the site monthly.
“We are confident that users will be excited about our new look,” said Steve Boymel, Vice President of Business Development at Farlex. “Not only do we have a new user interface, but we’re also giving people additional methods to use and syndicate our content in engaging ways,” he said.
These new enhancements include a more user-friendly interface, Word of the Day archive, RSS feeds, word games, and improved tools for students, including a printer-friendly format option and a citation tool for those doing research. The citation tool allows students to cite information correctly for their own research without fear of cheating or plagiarism. Farlex released these tools over the summer, aware that students are now returning to classes for a brand new school year.
Farlex will continue to add rich and relevant content to its database. This content is freely available to everyone, and it can be integrated very easily with your Web site, blog, or corporate intranet portals. Please visit http://www.thefreedictionary.com/lookup.htm to add content to your site.
